If you own commercial property or are the landlord, managing agent, facilities manager or you are the employer of the people working in the building / on the site, then you should expect to have mandatory duties of care under the Control of Asbestos at Work Regulations (CAWR) 2002. It may be your responsibility to take action or you may need to demonstrate that action is being taken by others. Regulations 4 and 10 are particularly relevant. You should seek professional advice from a qualified asbestos surveyor.
